The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

No. I would like to, but that probably won’t happen until after I retire in 1 year and 5 months. I do hope to blog at least 3 – 4 times per week, and that usually happens, but not always (like this week). After I retire I will have more time for writing and hope to put up something every day. Then there’s social media. Twitter is not too hard to update because I can share posts from here, but Instagram takes a lot of work! I’m going to have to take a class or something to get better at it.
How about you? How often do you blog or post on social media?
At the beginning of the year I decided I wanted to post a children’s book review every day this year…I’m failing miserably at that.
Although if I didn’t spend 40 hours a week having to work, I’d be able to make it happen easy.
Have a great weekend.

With work consuming as much time as it does, posting daily is hard. And maybe, like others are saying, daily is too much.

I post once or twice a week at most. I’m retired and still don’t have time to post every day. Plus people don’t like it. They don’t have time to read a post from me every day. I have actually stopped following blogs that post every day. Quality over quantity is best for blog posts, in my mind. I love your posts and you don’t need to post any more than you do.

Thanks Darlene. That’s a good point.

I agree with you, Darlene, about quality over quantity with blog posts.

I love that you’re counting down to retirement, Bonnie! Like Darlene, I thought I would have oh, so much more time in retirement, and I do, but it fills up fast and seems like there’s never enough time to do all that I want or should do:)

Thanks Gail! I think for the first two or three weeks of retirement I’m going to sleep a lot! I may take a nap every day. lol. After that my schedule might fill up.

Oh yes. Nap for the first little while. I know I did.

I’m in exactly the same boat, Gail.

I am retired, but things still get in the way. I would like to post everyday, but it doesn’t always happen. Some days I post more than once. I have several memes I try to participate in each week, plus post reviews. All my posts also post to twitter, but that is it for social media for me.

That’s what others are saying too. I might not have as much time as I think when I’m retired.

I post on my blog once every other week, unless something special comes up. I visit others’ blogs every day. I need to have time to write!

I get behind on the visiting and am constantly trying to catch up.

You don’t have to do Instagram, just do what feels good to you.

I see other bloggers succeeding there so eventually when I retire I’ll put more time into it.

The only reason I have a post pretty much everyday is because of the blog tours I post. If not for that, I don’t think I would post everyday, and I am retired. As for Instagram, I gave up trying to keep up with that daily or even weekly. If I post three to four times a month I feel like I am doing great, lol! Happy Saturday, Bonnie. 😊

I see a lot of bloggers on Instagram with over 15,000 followers so maybe when I have more time I’ll try to get there. I only have a little less than 1300 right now.

I post just about everyday on my blog. I’ve only missed a couple of days in the past year. But, I’m retired so it’s much easier for me. I post on Instagram and Twitter about 5 days a week, as I only post my reviews on them.

And I love reading your blog/Instagram.

I’m the same – I aim for 3-4 a week but life has just been too much recently. And while I know how to use social media, I’m not sure how best to utilise it along with my blog!

Since you can’t put links on Instagram posts, I wasn’t sure it was much help, but you can put them in Instagram Stories, so I’ve been trying that.

I’ve posted for the last three days but my goal is to post 1 to 3 times a week. Once I figure out a good schedule and a good balance of what I want to post I had a blog about three years ago that I had and I posted pretty consistently on there for three years and then I had a newborn so for the last three years I haven’t really had a lot of time to dedicate to a blog, so I switched over to TikTok and then my child is now 2 1/2 so they’ll be three this year and they’re a lot more independent so I feel like I have more time to devote to a blog.
