The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog. See the latest question below:

Never. I love audiobooks, and I usually listen to them when driving or laying down. I really get immersed in the audiobook when I’m listening to it and have no need to follow along with the print version.
Also, since I usually listen while driving, reading along would definitely be frowned upon by the State of Tennessee!
Here is a link to an audiobook I just listened to that is going to get a 5-plus star rating from me in my review next week: If you like small-town fiction, click on the cover and pick this up for a fantastic audiobook experience.

What about you? Do you follow along with the print when you listen to an audiobook? Any great listens you want to recommend?
I love audiobooks, and usually the answer is no, but once in awhile I will follow along. I do a lot of read/listens though. I listen when I am busy doing things (driving, laundry, dishes, weeding etc.) but then will switch to reading when I sit down. I am glad you enjoyed In the Middle of Hickory Lane. I got approved for that one on NG and will get to it soon.

I hope you enjoy Hickory Lane as much as I did. I can’t wait to read the author’s other books. It had a sort of Fannie Flagg small-town vibe to it.

Definitely the type of book I enjoy.

I don’t read and listen at the same time. Like you, I save the audio for when I’m driving, mowing the lawn or doing chores. I have started books in print and then finished in audio.

I have done the half audio half print thing before too. If I’m not going to be driving I’ll sometimes finish a book in print. And when my favorite narrator Zara Ramm is involved I will often get the audiobook even if I’ve read it in print already.

Hahaha! Yeah, no reading and driving in Tennessee. Or anywhere for that matter 😉 I do enjoy listening to audiobooks on long car rides. It’s a good way to pass the time and *hopefully* check off books on that long TBR.

I do think the audiobooks make the trip seem shorter.

I just can’t get into audiobooks but if I did use them it would be whilst driving – so definitely no reading along!

No I don’t. I get most of my audiobooks from the library. I suppose I could check out a digital version as well as the audiobook, but I listen to audiobooks for the freedom it gives me to multi-task.

Awesome! Loved this article. I actually just published a blog post about audiobooks. Would be honored if you checked it out and let me know your thoughts. https://jrbyoung.com/2022/10/27/is-listening-reading/
