Sunday Post: Life is Good. #SundayPost

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post

No sickness this week! Life has returned to normal and I’m catching up on everything. Getting a much-needed haircut tomorrow. Funny how the little things fall by the wayside when you’re sick. Went out antiquing with my husband yesterday. We didn’t buy anything (a first), but it was nice to get out and look. I’m actually going to have to sell some of my vintage glassware collection to make room when we move to our retirement home, which is less the half the size of our current home. So anything I buy right now will have to be really special to “make the cut.” We also went to Lowe’s to look at stain for a new bookcase, and then we checked out some stoves. I still don’t know what kind of stove I want. It was just a nice, normal day, which we haven’t had in a while.

Tonight my beloved Cincinnati Bengals play for the AFC title, so I’ll be rooting them on. I’ve been a fan of this team for over 40 years, and there have been a lot of losses and disappointments in that time. I’m hoping for another chance at a Super Bowl and a victory this time.

LAST WEEK ON BONNIE READS AND WRITES

On Wednesday I reviewed Last Summer Boys by Bill Rivers

On Friday I reviewed The Marriage Season by Jane Dunn as part of a blog Tour for Rachel’s Random Resources.

I also participated in Book Blogger Hop on Friday. The question was, “Do you prefer to read in a quiet or noisy setting?”

For Indie Weekend I have reviewed The Great Loveda Brown by Jolie Tunnell.

NEXT WEEK ON BONNIE READS AND WRITES

On Monday or Tuesday, I will review the audiobook of Spare, narrated by Prince Harry. It was ghostwritten by J.R. Moehringer

On Tuesday I will participate in Top Ten Tuesday if time permits.

On Wednesday or Thursday I will review Murder in the Cathedral by Cora Harrison

On Friday I will participate in Book Blogger Hop if time permits.

And for Indie Weekend I’ll review or spotlight Indie Books.

BOOK HAUL

I am reading Murder in Postscript and The Echo of Old Books for the Historical Novel Society, so those reviews won’t be posted until after they are published on May 1st. This Other Eden is an audiobook I picked up on Netgalley.

Have a great week, everyone!

  1. So wonderful to hear you and your husband had good, normal week…it certainly was deserved after what you’ve been through. And mostly, GO BENGALS!!! Definitely rooting for them, even after you crushed us!!! lol.

      1. Haha, wow. That home matchup won’t be easy. I’m a huge Yankee fan and years ago I dated a Red Sox fan…needless to say, it didn’t last…haha.

  2. Glad you’re feeling better! I love antiquing, even when I don’t buy anything it’s just fun to look around. My Chiefs are playing your Bengals tonight. I’m actually pretty scared your team will win. I’d love to see my Chiefs win again, but with how the Bengals have beat us the last three times and with some of our injuries, I just don’t see how it will happen. But we’ll be watching the same thing tonight! Have a great week!

  3. Your beloved Bengals knocked my beloved out of the playoffs a couple weeks ago and I’m still trying to recover from that heartbreaking loss. Lol. I do hope your team does well, though. I may be rooting for them moving forward this season. 🙂

  4. That is lovely you got to go out and shop. I love looking at antiques although my house is full of them from grandparents, parents, great aunts and my own purchases. I can’t add more either.

  5. So glad you’re feeling better! Gives you a whole new appreciation for those nice, normal days. Good luck to your Bengals. Now that my Jaguars are out of it, I’m actually pulling for the Chiefs.

      1. He was the keynote speaker at a writing conference I attended. After his talk, I ran–not walked–to the book table to buy a copy. It’s as good a read as I anticipated. (I just went upstairs and checked my copy; he did sign it for me.)

  6. I’m glad you’re all feeling better and life is back to normal. I’m watching the Bengals right now, and it’s a nailbiter!!

  7. I’m so glad you’re feeling back to normal. Your weekend sounds so lovely! Moving to a house half the size of yours now is definitely a deterrent from buying things but I think downsizing is always good for retirement. Have a wonderful week Bonnie!

  8. I’m not sure I could bare to part with my vintage glass… Good luck with that!
I hope you’re enjoying Murder in Postscript as it sounds like an interesting read.

  9. I also am really careful about what we buy for the home now. We’ll be retiring to our beach house in about 8 years, so I try to keep the added stuff to a minimum.
