Thanks to Caffeinated Book Reviewer for hosting Sunday Post.
This has been an easy weekend. I’m relaxing, blogging, and trying to figure out why Instagram keeps temporarily banning me from following people (every other day). I’m also sharing book reviews every which way I can share them. I’m looking forward to August, when I retire and can do this more often.
Hope you had a great week!
LAST WEEK ON BONNIE READS AND WRITES
We talked about Bookish Superpowers on Top Ten Tuesday.
I reviewed Music Titans, Ill-fated Fortune, Slow Noodles, and for Indie Weekend Hayden’s World Vol 1 and The Mender. I also did a Q&A with author Jennifer Marchman, which can be found with The Mender review..
NEXT WEEK ON BONNIE READS AND WRITES
I will review When Light Breaks Through by Brenda Murphy, A Child For Sale by Pam Howes, and Sisters of Fortune by Anna Lee Huber. I may review other books as well. I will participate in Top Ten Tuesday and Book Blogger Hop if time permits.
BOOK HAUL
Two Moons: In 1877, a Civil War widow starts work as a human “computer” in Washington D.C.
A Feather So Black: In a kingdom where magic has been lost, Fia is a rare changeling, left behind by the wicked Fair Folk when they stole the High Queen’s daughter and retreated behind locked gates.
Miss Morgan’s Book Brigade: In dual timelines, 1918 and 1987, this book looks at the disappearance of Jessie Carson, who turned ambulances into bookmobiles in the aftermath of World War 1.
How was your week and what are you reading?
It’s so mice to have an easy relaxing weekend at home to do the odd little tasks and things we normally don’t get to do. And the fun things like looking over new book options or cooking some food we really like.

I have felt that way before too. But it’s finally happening.

I had a productive week on the writing-related front. I’m working on a new flash fiction piece I’m having fun with.

Could it be the people you’re following who block you? I know it’s an option. I don’t know why they’d do it, though. I hope you get it figured out. That would be really frustrating.

No it’s a message from Instagram that I should try following again “later” and later can take a long time.

Ugh. That’s super annoying. Sorry.

Instagram has been cracking down on a lot of things concerning gaining followers and following lately. It’s been crazy and frustrating. And really makes no sense. This is where our blogs are better because they are ours and we don’t have to worry about craziness.

I was just thinking that. Nobody messes with the blogs. Instagram seems to want to keep people from succeeding.

Exactly. We talk about that in my chat groups all the time. Most of us aren’t going to be overnight social media success stories – book accounts just don’t have that mass appeal.

People may be inadvertently blocking you, Bonnie. I have done it once – not to you. When you toggle to read the full post the option to block is right under view post. It’s easy, if you have fat fingers like mine, to hit the wrong option. Have a great week. Retirement is great. I don’t know how I found time to work! 💕📚

No I’m trying to follow back people who have already followed me. There’s no way every single one of them blocked me.

Or they have hit the unsubscribe button in error – I have done that too! 🤷♀️💕📚

I’ve been having issues with Instagram for a while now. They’ve kept me from liking posts, commenting on posts and once they’ve even taken one of my posts down. I haven’t done anything wrong or against their guidelines. I usually try logging out of my account and that will sometimes work and if it doesn’t I call them out on it and then try again a little later and it’s back to working. It’s so frustrating.

Same here. It’s always a limit on my follows for me

A Feather So Black is on my reading list for this week.
Instagrams issues are the reason I’d never ditch my blog for a social media site, they just can’t be trusted. I hope the problem is resolved soon for you.
Wishing you a happy reading week

Glad you had a nice weekend! I haven’t had any issues on Instagram. Just tons of spam followers and messages on TikTok. I wish I was better about posting reviews on Instagram too! Have a great week!
