Book Blogger Hop is run by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. There is a different bookish question every week. This week’s question asks about the last time you read a book in one sitting.
Answer: I pretty much read all of Jodi Taylor’s books in one sitting as soon as they are released. She writes the St. Mary’s Chronicles and The Time Police series. The most recent book I read in one sitting was Kinfolk by Sean Dietrich. See my review of this wonderful book here.
How about you? What is the last book you read in one sitting?
I love to read and write book reviews in my free time. I review advance review copies of books on Netgalley for various publishers. I am also a reviewer for Historical Novels Review Magazine, the magazine of the Historical Novel Society. I review books from publishers of all size, large to small. I have a special place in my heart for indie authors. I will sometimes post a little writing that I might dabble in occasionally. I also am lucky enough to live in the Smoky Mountains, so I'll be sharing photos of the beauty around me from time to time.

I don’t usually have the time to read a whole book in one sitting, but I’ll often read one over the course of a day, especially the St Mary’s books. I’m on my fifth time through the series at the moment, and by this point I think I have read everything Jodi Taylor has ever written. For anything else I’ll read anything from a few pages to half a book at a time.

Yes! It’s hard to put one of Jodi’s books down!

I’ve thought back and Nope – never did read a book in one sitting.

You’re more patient than I am. lol.

It usually because I’ll have 2 or 3 books going at once.

Only if the book is slim, the story captivating, and no distractions or house chores! Otherwise, it would take me several days or more to finish a book.

That makes sense.

As GP said, I’ve never read a book in one sitting. Too much else going on that needs to be taken care of.

I definitely have to plan for it or read late into the night.

I think the last book I read in one sitting was The Attendant by Tony Powers. I couldn’t put it down!

I’ll have to check that out

I’d love to know what you think of it.

I can only read children’s books in one sitting. I don’t have the concentration for anything else!
Ooh nice! That’s a new to me author! Victoria Laurie’s books were like that for me back in the day! Mainly when I had a job where I didn’t do much. Lol. Now it’s a bit harder but if I time things right I can take a day off and read the right book in one sitting! Hasn’t happened in awhile though! Lol.
Thanks for visiting my BBH!

That’s great that you are able to finish books in one sitting by a favorite author. It’s been a long while since I have been able to do that–other than manga, a graphic novel or a poetry collection–something short. I rarely have a good stretch of uninterrupted time to read these days. I hope you have a great weekend!
