Book Blogger Hop is run by Billy @CoffeeAddictedWriter. The aim of the blog hop is to provide bloggers with an opportunity to follow other blogs, discover new books, make friends with other bloggers, and gain new followers for their own sites. Today’s question is “What is Your Favorite Plot Twist?”
That’s a hard question to answer. I’m not sure I have one favorite. Here are a few below.
I like plot twists similar to the “I Am Your Father” twist from Star Wars. I also like the long-lost family idea as a whole, especially if they leave our main character something of value, but attached to a mystery of some kind.
I like the plot twist of discovering you have special powers, like in Harry Potter. Or discovering an amazing new world, like The Chronicles of Narnia.
I like mysteries that tie in famous people, like Mastering the Art of French Murder by Colleen Cambridge, in which Julia Child is a supporting character.
I like stories where someone buys a house or a shop and finds out it’s haunted. But only if the ghost is not terrifying.
And I love almost any twist that brings in time travel, as long as it’s actually about time travel and not basically a romance.
Those are just a few plot twists I like. What about you?
I like plot twists where two people start out disliking each other tremendously but then end up falling in love through mutually trying to solve a problem, such as finding their way out of the woods after surviving a plane crash.
The “enemies to lovers” plot twist is a popular one.
OOh nice ones! I enjoy that too! Or oooh what about the you think the house you just bought is haunted but it turns out to be something much worse?! I read one like that a year or two ago and it was awesome!

Any plot that involves a time travel twist is one that take my money every time! That and “the library or book isn’t what you thought it was” kind!
I do like my time travel books, although I am quite picky about them. And I love the idea o magical libraries too!
I love all plot twists if well executed (isn’t that always the contingency?) I’m an easy to please reader – well, sort of 😊
I have a couple that I dislike but I like most of them.
Ooh I do also like a good “discovering a new world” or “realising you have had powers all along, which is why X happened”! I like a plot twist where a character isn’t who you thought they were at the end. Like Professor Snape in Harry Potter.
Yes. Snape may have been an ass most of the time, but he was trying to do the right thing.
Oh, the one where a famous person from history figures in the story somehow! Those are great!
Yes. The Julia Child book is the one I thought of originally, but I also enjoy a series were Jane Austen is a part of the story. And all the Jane Austen retellings as well.
