The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.
This week’s question was submitted by Billy @Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer:

Yes! All my life, and for many reasons. First of course, there is the Bible, but below I will list fictional books that I re-read.
The characters in The Chronicles of St. Mary’s series by Jodi Taylor are like old friends I want to visit again and again.
The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter series have fabulous worlds that I want to get lost in for a while, and a touch of magic too.
I always read Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book The Long Winter whenever we have a big snowstorm or snow day. This is about a horrible winter the family suffered through, and it talks about how they survived through ingenuity and heroism.
At Christmas, I always read Grace Livingston Hill’s The Substitute Guest, which describes the perfect old-fashioned family Christmas and was written by Hill in 1936. She was a popular Christian romance author who died in 1947.
The Door Into Summer is my favorite fictional book. I have it in every format imaginable and have read it many times. What I like about it is that the main character was determined to change their circumstances and did so, in an unusual way.
What About you? Are there books you like to read over and over?
I love to reread books. The Goblin Emperor is a book that I have read several times in the past few years. I love to revisit characters and places that I enjoyed.

The Kinsey Millhone Alphabet Series – Books by Sue Grafton.
My 3 poetry books ☺️ and the Bible, absolutely.
BTW love the new fall photo with the leaves and the warm drink. ☕️

Great choices, especially your poetry books! I try to change the photos seasonally but I kept my Spring photo all summer because I liked it so much! I was hoping everyone would be ready for the fall colors.

I don’t re read that often as I have far too many books as it is and keep getting distracted by new books. I would love to find the time to re read Harry Potter though.
Have a great weekend!

If you haven’t listened to the audiobooks narrated by Jim Dale, they are a great way to “re-read” the series.

I haven’t listened to any audio books as I am not sure that I have the concentration for them, but maybe if it is a book that I have already read I might be ok.

I used to re-read books all the time! But, now as a book blogger, I don’t find much time to re-read.

I’ve read Thomas Harris’s “The Silence of the Lambs” a few times. I studied his plot timing and the depth of his characters.

That’s a good point. Writers must study other writers.

I love that you reread A Long Winter on a snow day/during a snowstorm. That’s perfect!

Thanks. It definitely reminds me to be thankful for heat, food, and hot coffee, and it’s my favorite of the Little House books.

I no longer reread books because I have so many unread books to read. When I was younger, I would reread Agatha Christie and Raymond Chandler.

I have reread several books, many times. Some are books I first read in college.

I have a few I like to revisit: Christy Miller (and friends) series by Robin Jones Gunn, the Anne of Green Gables series by LM Montgomery and I also read A Walk to Remember at Christmastime

Have you ever read Jane of Lantern Hill by LM Montgomery? My sister and I read it when we were teens, then I read it to our younger sister and just now recommended it to a friend. What we love is this LM Montgomery character has both parents alive, and a dream to unite her family once again 😉

I have not! That does sound like a sweet one. Thanks for the recommendation!

I very much love to reread books. About 33% of the books I read each year are rereads. Harry Potter is on the top of the list. 😀 Here’s my post.

I’m not a great re-reader of books because there is always something new on my TBR to read. However, I DO re-read books when I’m in a slump and find I’m DNF’ing everything I try. That’s when I need an old favourite to get me out of my rut.

I very seldom reread books, unless you count children’s books that I read to my kids and now read to my grandkids, often over and over. I have reread, but skimmed, books in a series where there was a length of time between the newest one and the last one I read. There are too many books I want to read, to reread, but that might just be me.

Ooh. I like this question. I’ve read some of the books you mentioned, like the Long Winter. I was amazed that even tho the book is thicker and longer than the others in the series, and they get blizzard after blizzard, it didn’t drag on. It’s an enjoyable read.
I haven’t heard of “The Substitute Guest”. I’m going to look into that. It sounds wonderful.
As for myself, I love re-reading the book Lorna Doone. It’s a masterpiece of historical fiction, action and romance written in the 1860s but set 200 years before, about an honest neighborhood shadowed by outlaws.
