The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Yes, absolutely. If I don’t have time to read/review the book, I also have an option to do a spotlight with the cover art, blurb, and buy links. That way we can still get the word out about the book even if I don’t have time to do a review.
I’d like to take this time to encourage authors to send me info for a spotlight, even if you are also waiting for a review. Please be sure and contact me at bonniereadsandwrites@gmail.com. Send me the cover art, a book blurb, an author bio, and anything else you want to be included in the post. (If you have a book trailer, send it to me. I love them.) I will add buy links.

I struggle with making enough time for my blog though a copy/paste post would be do-able. I would really want to be familiar with the author’s work though.

I agree, Louise! I think it’s awesome to help people who are writing good, truthful, books, but I’m very hesitant to advertise for a book I haven’t read, yet
I never thought about doing a spotlight on my own. I get a bit nervous about putting stuff about a book that I haven’t personally read. I have done a spotlight once as part of a Blog Tour. I don’t know if I would do it again.

I just make sure people know it’s not a review, and it gives self-published authors a helping hand. I put plenty of detail in the spotlight so my readers can decide for themselves if they want to try the book.
That makes sense— clarifying that you are not reviewing the book.

I will only post a spotlight if it is a book that I plan to read in the future. There are some books (genre, subject matter etc.) that I don’t want to read, therefore I don’t promote on my blog. Otherwise, a spotlight, interview or guest post are great options for me.
