ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Josh Poteet is the Lead Pastor of 180 Life Church in West Hartford, CT and Army veteran. He holds a Master’s in Theology from Liberty University and has been part of the Relational Discipleship Network for 10 years, leading discipleship trainings, both in the U.S. and internationally.

Josh regularly teaches on equipping parents, empowering disciples, training leaders, and helping families embrace their role as primary disciple-makers. His passion for family discipleship is shaped by his personal experiences as a father and his years of walking alongside parents as they raise up tiny disciples. He and his wife, Jennie, live in Connecticut with their two children, Lilla and Ezra.

Matt Nations is the Executive Pastor at Riverside Church in Fort Myers, FL, and a consultant with the Growmentum Group, where he helps churches align vision, strategy, and structure for greater kingdom impact. With over a decade of experience in church leadership, pastoral coaching, and organizational development, Matt is passionate about helping churches create intentional pathways for spiritual growth and mission-driven effectiveness. He has had the opportunity to lead discipleship training for many churches in the U.S. and around the world.

Matt’s heart for discipleship and leadership development is shaped by his own ministry journey and his commitment to seeing people grow in their faith and calling. He and his wife, Jess, live in Florida with their four children.

Indie Weekend: Review of Your Words Your Love by Louise Bélanger #NewRelease

Below is a review of the fourth book in Louise Bélanger’s wonderful Your Words Christian poetry collection, Your Words Your Love.

This is a wonderful collection of Christian poems that really speak to the heart. It is easy to see that these poems are written with love, and God’s love is made evident in every one. Each poem could also be described as a short story. One of my favorites, LOVE, tells a very personal story from the author’s life.  Absolutely gorgeous photos, all taken by the author, accompany each poem.

Another poem, A CALL TO WAR, is about spiritual warfare and praying to the Father for others.  The phrase “put on your armor,” evokes Ephesians 6:10-18 about putting on the armor of God, which includes righteousness, truth, readiness, and faith.

Nature is prevalent in this collection, and not just in the beautiful photos.  An animal is used in another one of my favorites, PORCUPINES. God’s love of all of his creation really shines through. This collection with introduce God to those who haven’t met Him, and if you already know Him, it will bring you closer to Him than ever before.

Written with love and brimming with hope, this collection will bring comfort, joy, and inspiration to the reader.

Here is the newest edition of Self-Published Saturday, where I highlight great self-published authors and introduce you to their books. As you know, self-published authors have to do it all, from editing to cover design to marketing. My hope for this feature is that it helps authors in their marketing efforts. This week I am pleased to announce that Louise Bélanger has published her second book of poems. Her first book, Your Words, has been featured here before. Your Words, Your World is a beautiful collection of poetry, photographs, and story poems about God and the world He created, and the second book of poems by Louise Bélanger. It helps the reader look at the world in a new way.

Among my favorite poems is Ordinary, about how God can take something ordinary, like a star or a body of water, and make it do extraordinary things. I also loved Dust, which reminds us that God created us all from something we don’t really like–dust. A War Erupted paints a beautiful and tumultuous picture of a thunderstorm. The Contest is a thought-provoking story poem about a conversation between flowers. Zoom to Heaven is probably my favorite of all, as it talks about what it would be like to have a Zoom conversation with a loved one in Heaven.

Your Words, Your World takes a unique look at God and the world He created, and it makes me appreciate Him and this world all the more.

The photographs of nature throughout the book are gorgeous and mesmerizing, and they make perfect companions to the poems.

I am a Canadian poet and the author of Your Words and Your Words Your World. I started writing poetry in the spring of 2020. Pouring my emotions on paper, describing beautiful scenery and stories that came to life in my head was quite new to me. With the encouragement and help from many friends, my dream became a reality.

Photography and music are also dear to my heart. I am an avid reader and a big screen movie goer.

My relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is the most important relationship in my life. It’s the foundation for everything.

Quality time with loved ones is precious and essential.
