Thank you to The Caffeinated Book Reviewer for hosting Sunday Post.
This week brought me a new car! We sold our house a couple of weeks ago, and that led to my new ride, which will probably be my last new car ever. It is a Honda HR-V Sport, and I love it. Since I’m retired, I don’t expect I’ll be putting a ton of miles on it, so it should last a long time. Of course, it got muddy almost immediately because we’ve had a lot of rain and live on a gravel road. I’m waiting until things dry out to wash it. Here’s my car, which I’ve named Pearl: That’s Hermann photobombing the first picture 🙂

I just reviewed several books for The Historical Novel Society, and now that the February issue has been published, I’ll be sharing some of those with you.
THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG
I have two or three Indie reviews I’m going to share, and I’ve got a Q&A in process that I might be able to post this week. I’ll participate in Top Ten Tuesday as well.
WRITING
I’m going to start an Alternate Reality short story, so wish me luck!
BOOK HAUL
Just one new Netgalley book right now. I’ve been really selective regarding what I request on Netgalley because I have plenty of books.

Honor seems to have everything: she adores her bright and beautiful daughter, Chloe, and her charming, handsome husband, Tom, even if he works one hundred hours a week. Yet Honor’s longing for another baby threatens to eclipse all of it―until a shocking event changes their lives forever.
How was your week?

Alternative Reality short story? That’s new for you. Have fun with it!!
We will see how it goes. Do you want to read the draft when Doug and I come up with it?
I would LOVE it!!!
Pearl is a very attractive little car. Good luck with your alternative reality story!!
Thanks! The official name of the car color is Nordic Forest Pearl, so I named her Pearl. Doug started calling her Minnie Pearl. Apparently nobody under 50 knows who that is. Sad.
Pearl is a good name for a car. I don’t think anyone under 50 knows where “It’s got a good beat, and you can dance to it” came from and means damning with faint praise.
Love your new car glad, you love it!
Thanks! I drove a 99 Subaru that my cousin gave me for free for the last six years. That car did more than I could ever have asked. It got me everywhere I wanted to go. This is quite a change, but it was time to get a new car with more comfort and a long warranty.
Congrats on the new car. Hondas are such good cars. I drove one for 13 years, then gave it to my daughter when we moved to Spain ten years ago. She is still driving it! Good luck with your story. xo
Yes, I’m hoping it lasts a really long time!!!
Nice car, Bonnie. Alternative reality sounds interesting to me. I’m sure your short story will be great.
I love a good Alternate Reality story.
Sounds like you had a good week. A lovely new car! Good luck with your writing! I need to give Netgalley a break whilst I catch up on books. I am down to 6 😂
Have a great week!

My post:
Thanks Emily. I am not close to 6, but less than 20 now, which is good for me. I’m cutting way down on it.
I do my best to ignore Netgalley, but it got away from me as there were so many new books in series that I wanted to read 🤣
I haven’t been on Netgalley that long which I think also helps 🤣
May you enjoy your new car in good health! (Love the smell of a new car!)
Thanks Davida. Yes it definitely had that smell!
Pearl is pretty! Enjoy! My car is an old dame – she was made in 1991.
Wishing you a happy reading week
Wow, that’s even older than my Subaru was. I hope you have a great week too!
Love the new car! Very nice 🙂
Thanks Tessa! I love it.
