Sunday Post: A Year of Change

Thanks to The Caffeinated Book Reviewer for hosting Sunday Post.

So many changes going on. It’s my retirement year. I’m traveling overseas for two months, retiring in 6 months, and we’re moving in six months. It’s the Year of the Dragon and I happened upon my Chinese horoscope. I don’t usually look at horoscopes, but it says this is going to be a year of change for me. That’s not news. I am going to take some time for prayer and relaxation every day so I don’t get stressed out by all these changes. So I’m determined to embrace all the change and prepare for it, because it’s coming on fast.

LAST WEEK ON THE BLOG

I was gone to Knoxville for work most of the week and didn’t post the reviews that I had planned. I participated in Sunday Post and Book Blogger Hop last week. I also posted a review of Holliday by Matthew Di Paoli on Saturday, and for Indie Weekend I will post a review of Land of the Blue Mist and a Q&A with author Susan Mallgrave today.

NEXT WEEK ON THE BLOG

I’m hoping to review Ill-Fated Fortune, Sisters of Fortune, and A Smoking Bun. I’m also going to review the audiobook of Slow Noodles by Chantha Nguon, which is the best book I’ve read so far this year.

BOOK HAUL

This is the third book in the Mr. Darcy and Miss Tilney mystery series, and I loved the first two. The children of characters from popular Jane Austen books have teamed up to solve yet another murder. I’m looking forward to it.

A romantic historical fantasy with vampires set during the US Civil War? Yes, please!

A romantic fantasy set in a magical land and inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia.

Question: How do you relax during times of stress and change?

  1. Wow you have got a busy time coming up! I’m not very good with change or stress, but have found music and comedy helps as well as romance novels. Also rereading can help too as it doesn’t require as much concentration as I know the stories really well. Hope it all goes really well.

          1. He’s 14, which I understand is old for a husky. He gets insulin shots twice a day, and my husband cooks him a chicken breast every night. He’s doing well except for some limited mobility.

  2. You do have a lot of change ahead of you. I tend to just jump in and deal with it but pay later. So your idea of preparing for it with relaxation, prayer and meditation is a good one.

  3. my tbr just grew i had to add the lost story to my list of course and i keep my eyes peeled for that one on netgalley. The Dangerous ones sounds interesting as well. Have a great week.

  4. Change can be stressful, even the good ones. It sounds like an exciting year to me. I’ll be interested to hear about all that travel. Although, it seems like hotels have really gone downhill since covid.
