BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM AMAZON)

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away…because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most cadets would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

BOOK REVIEW

I picked this up to see what everyone was raving about, and now I know. The story, the cutthroat, dragon-riding world, and the characters are all so good that the reader will keep coming back for more. This series, called the EMPYREAN series, is a phenomenon happening right now, and rumor has it that Amazon is developing a TV series. FOURTH WING is seriously addictive. A college for dragon riders! Tell me more! The tagline: “Graduate or die” just reels you in. It was published in May 2023 and already has over 100,000 reviews on Amazon. I have not seen this level of excitement about a series of books since Harry Potter. It is already successful, and there will no doubt be a lot more success in the future. The second book, IRON FLAME, comes out Tuesday, November 7th. I am waiting for this next book release as if Tuesday is Christmas morning. It’s a phenomenon for sure.

I did not get a free copy of this book. I bought it, even though I have free books lined up on my shelves to review. Then I bought the audiobook so I could experience it again. I now have the Kindle and Audiobook versions of IRON FLAME on preorder. Jump on board this train. You won’t regret it.

  1. This quickly became my favorite book. It was so well written, fast paced and I love the back and forth between Violet and Xaden. I am not so patiently waiting for Tuesday 😂

  2. I recently did a reread of this in anticipation for the new release. I only just read it for the first time a few months back and I still love it just as much although my hatred for Dain was more prominent this time around!! 😂

  3. Once I found this I bought it. But then it sat on my bookshelves because I had so many review books to read. Then the special edition was posted on Amazon, so I pre-ordered and took the one I bought for a student at my high school to read. So I still haven’t read it. And my special edition still hasn’t made it. I really need it to come soon! Great review!
