Top Ten Tuesday is sponsored by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is: Reading Goals I Want To Accomplish Before the End of the Year.
Here are my Top Ten Reading Goals For The Rest of the Year
- I want to get 30 days ahead of the books on my Netgalley Shelf. I’m only about a week ahead right now.
- I would like to get the number of books on my Netgalley shelf down below 20. I’m doing better. I have 23 right now.
- I have four books to read by December 15th for Historical Novels Review so I must get those done.
- I also have to read three books for the Book Bloggers Novel of the Year panel by December 15th.
- After reading #3 and #4, my new goal is to not take on too many more books for December.
- I want to finish all my current Christmas books before the month of December.
- I want to put aside time during Christmas week to just read for pleasure. Too many deadlines
- I would like to make my Goodreads challenge goal of 125 books. I’m already at 95.
- I want to spend more time doing my Bookstagram reviews. I have neglected them for too long.
- I need to get caught up on reading and commenting on the blogs of others. That is something I enjoy, but sometimes I don’t have enough time to read them all.

Do you have any reading goals before the end of the year?

Worthy goals. Good luck in hitting your yearly goal of 125!
Thanks Deb. I am right on track for it. I hope you achieve all of your goals too.
I really feel you on number 7! It the perfect time of year for cozy, calm reading what you want to, but because it’s the end of so many challenges all at once, I often end up reading specifically to hit goals.
Exactly. I have always read for pleasure and I don’t want to lose that.
You have some great goals! I think setting aside time to read just for fun is important. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Great goals. I have no doubt you will meet them. You are close to your Goodreads goal. Well done!
Thanks Darlene. I lowered the Goodreads goal this year and I’m glad I did. Quality, not quantity.
Oh gosh, I’m already feeling overwhelmed by just reading the first 4 goals of yours! I can never do that…

I kept trying to reply to your TTT post, but it kept saying I wasn’t logged in so I don’t know if it went through.
I hope you meet all your deadlines with ease and that you will enjoy reading for pleasure in December!
Thanks so much Carol. Best wishes to you too!
They all sound like good and manageable goals!! Good luck 🙂
Yes I’m trying to keep the goals realistic this year.
These are great goals and it sounds like you’re doing well. My NG shelf always stresses me out so I try to read them well in advance.
I wish I could get my NG shelf down to 20 books haha. It’s on about 80, some of them from over a decade ago. I really wish I could clean that up a bit.
That’s what I’m trying to avoid. I’ve only been using Netgalley a little over three years, and I don’t want to fall too far behind. Best wishes on your goals.
Nice set of goals! They seem manageable and I wish you the best of luck!
Thanks for visiting my TTT!
Looks like you’ll have a busy month, but with lots of good reading.
Yes, I think so too.
I’m keeping my end of year reading goals as simple as possible. I need to catch up on reviews for the books I’ve read, and then I need to read and review three books that are being launched.
Hope you achieve all your goals and enjoy your reading!
Thank you, Bonnie!
Oooh, what’s the Book Bloggers Novel of the Year? That sounds exciting.
Good luck on achieving all your goals!
Happy TTT!

I have the same goal for NetGalley. I used to be a month ahead now I’m barely getting the books read before publication. I’d love to be a month ahead again.
Me too! And I’d love to schedule my reviews a week ahead too.
One of my reading goals this year was to gain control of NetGalley. I am at 13. 13 left to read and review! 😀
That is awesome!
Thank you!!!
Good luck! I’m chronically behind with commenting on blogs. 🙂
That’s such an impressive list of goals. I would love to learn about how you make the time for reading, and your list of books you will be reading for pleasure over the christmas holidays, will they be festive?
An excellent set of goals! I have 2 Netgalley books and that is stressing me out looking at them 😂
Have a great week!
Lots of great goals. It’d be nice to have the week of Christmas to just relax and read what you want.
You are one impressive lady, Bonnie. You are a master reader and reviewer!
