With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog. See the latest question below.

MY ANSWER
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Of all the Harry Potter films, Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite. It wasn’t at first, because it’s the least like the actual book, but it really grew to become my favorite. It was the only one directed by Alphonso Caurón, and his imagination and creativity resulted in a movie that brought the magical world to us in a colorful way. He bought the Knight Bus to life, as well as Buckbeak, and his take on the Leaky Cauldron is amazing. It is the one I want to watch over and over. And it’s the first time Sirius Black showed up on the screen. I’ve been a fan of the Harry Potter books for a long time, especially the Prisoner of Azkaban, and this movie is the one I like the most as well.
What is your favorite movie adapted from a book?
Off the top of my head, I’d say “Doctor Zhivago.” I loved the movie, but the book was pretty clunky.

I’ve not seen the movie or read the book. I’ll have to put the movie on my list.

For me it is a toss up between the Harry Potter moves (the first three) and The Princess Bride.

Princess Bride is such a classic movie. People still quote it.

Anne of Green Gables or Princess Diaries. I tend to enjoy movies more when I see them before reading the book

I loved the tv show, “Anne with an E.” I’m sorry they cancelled it.

I was disappointed not only that they cancelled it, but they way they did it. They were never given the chance to finish the series properly, and had to piece together that final show which made for a rushed and disjointed ending. Not what it deserved.

IMO as soon as they brought in the Native family and showed how the children were being torn from their parents and sent to school that’s when the show quickly ended. It was political I think

So much for showing that reality isn’t always idyllic and squeaky clean. The writers didn’t shy away from any topic.

I think it’s on Netflix if you decide you want to watch it.

I thought all the Harry Potter adaptations were excellent.

I liked some more than others. Chamber of Secrets is my least favorite, but it’s also my least favorite book. A lot of people don’t like Goblet of Fire, but I don’t know why.

My favorite would be “Hombre,” starring Paul Newman. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Elmore Leonard, my favorite author.

I will check that out!

It’s a western, Bonnie. Not all tastes are the same, but I sure like it. 🙂

Prisoner of Azkaban was my favourite of the Harry Potter films too…well done by Alfonso Cuarón! I loved the timing, the humour…it just really stood out for me among all the other films!

The Harry Potter films are about the only ones where I’ve read the books AND seen the films – usually, I do one or the other! I don’t think I have a particular favourite, though I do enjoy the later films where the 3 of them are older teens.

I’m now kind of in the mood to watch them again.

You know – I don’t think I ever considered the Harry Potter books individually compared to the movie. I think that’s interesting to consider. LOTR is my favorite ❤️
